Beyaz Birth Control Pill
Beyaz Birth Control Pill which is a combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: drospirenone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It has its generic name drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol, and levomefolate and sold under the brand names Beyaz, Safyral.
What is Beyaz Birth Control Pill
Beyaz contains a combination of drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol, and levomefolate. Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and also cause changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Levomefolate is a type of B vitamin that helps prevent a rare birth defect that could occur in a baby if pregnancy occurs while taking birth control pills or shortly after stopping them.
Each pack of Beyaz birth control contains 28 pills — 24 pink tablets, each containing 3 milligrams (mg) drospirenone (a progestin), 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol (a synthetic estrogen), and 0.451 mg levomefolate calcium (a B vitamin). There are also four light orange tablets — they do not contain any hormones but do have 0.451 mg levomefolate calcium. Because there are only four placebo pills, Beyaz is also considered to be an extended cycle birth control pill.
